Freud..
Catching the attention of those on a night out.

We were asked to design, develop and produce a vending machine for Lynx’s latest campaign Pocket Pulling Power. But as with all things Lynx, this vending machine came with a twist. Instead of machinery and product filling the vending machine, a model was hidden inside, leading to a reveal that finally lets the customer know they’ve been interacting with a person rather than a machine.

We tested various materials for the machine front and decided to go with a one-way mirror. After studying various vending machines, we made the Lynx machine as authentic as possible so that the unsuspecting members of the public would be caught completely by surprise.

The consumer experience was considered in minute detail, ensuring that the tokens looked like promotional tokens, that the sound they made was authentic. We ensured that when a fragrance was selected by the customer, the button felt right, and lit up, and the model inside was made aware of the choice.

The machine was a fantastic success, with guys being lured into the trap and some even taking their shirts off or singing on request! Videos of interactions were also posted online.
